What was this drawn on?
:iconmedillin:
This was drawn on color-aid paper. I'm not sure if you are familiar with it, but it's typically not used as a drawing surface. This paper comes in a set of 300+ colors and graphic designers and illustrators usually use it to compare and contrast color relationships. I found that it is by far the best surface to do carbon dusting on because of it's matte finish. There are other surfaces out there that people would recommend for carbon dusting like clayboard for example but the thing with clayboard is it's hardness, it's really tough to get dark darks. It doesn't absorb the charcoal as much color-aid paper does. The downside to using Color-aid is it's a very sensitive surface and you have to be extremely careful not to get even a finger print on there because the charcoal with pick up and will be noticeable. Another downside is you won't be able to find individual sheets at any art supply store, you have to order it from coloraid.com
Hope this helps
